Volunteer

Volunteers are such a big part of the Hospice family. Not only are they there for the patient, but for the family as well. Our volunteers form lasting friendships and allow Access Hospice Care to provide services we otherwise could not.

Volunteers are supported by the Hospice interdisciplinary team which is composed of a Medical Directors, Physician, Nurses, Therapist, Social Workers, Aides and Clergy.

The team works closely together to provide the best care possible for the patient and family.

Volunteers help with the following activities:

Provide emotional support to patient and families
Provide relief to family caregivers
Update volunteer Coorinator on response of patient and family to hospice staff
Read to patients
Play games with the patient
